About Mär Studio

Welcome to Mär Studio, a personal and passionate design practice based in the heart of Falmouth. I love creating unique spaces that bring people together and leave a lasting impression. Architecture, to me, is more than buildings; it’s storytelling, connection, and shaping places where life naturally unfolds.

Mär Studio is the natural evolution of Hormann Architects. The previous name carried my early professional journey and the ambition of growing into a larger architectural practice, similar to the company I once worked for. Over time, I realised that my real strength and my real joy lies in staying small, personal, and closely connected to every project and every client.

As an architect, I have been fortunate to contribute personally to a number of projects you may recognise: The Jubilee Warehouse, Merchants Wharf, The Brain of Brian office barge, The Kimberley Park Bandstand, The Kimberley Lodge Café and Radio Station, The Prislow Woods Boardwalk, The Devoran Old School, the Falmouth Dracaena Skatepark, as well as many residential homes across Cornwall.

Many of these were created through collaboration with talented clients, builders, engineers, and creative partners, people who shaped the work alongside me.

The rebrand reflects a personal shift in ambition, not a financial or legal change. Mär Studio represents the way I truly love to work: with focus, clarity, independence, and creativity.

Today, my projects feel more meaningful, my ideas clearer, and my voice stronger. I design with renewed energy and purpose, ensuring each space reflects the people and stories it holds.

Each project is a collaboration with clients, builders, and specialists working together to create something truly special. From the first sketch to the finished space, I’m here to help shape a place that feels right, works beautifully, and sits naturally within its surroundings.
