    Welcome to Mär Studio, a small and personal architectural practice based in Falmouth. I’m Michael Hormann, a German trained engineer, architect, and technician with a background in civil engineering. I bring a mix of technical understanding and creative design to every project, whether it’s a home, a community space, or an unusual one off idea.

    For me, architecture is not just about making buildings look good. It’s about problem solving, storytelling, and creating spaces that feel natural, purposeful, and human. Over the years, I’ve been involved in a wide range of projects from boardwalks and bandstands to cafés, public buildings, skate parks, barges, and many homes. These experiences have proven that a small, efficient team can deliver highly complex work when the right people collaborate at the right time.

    At Mär Studio, I work closely with clients, builders, and specialists to make sure every idea is grounded, buildable, and truly reflects the people it’s for. I enjoy the whole process from early sketches to technical design to being on site and I believe the best buildings come from honest communication and shared curiosity.
